In this sermon, Pastor Travis Hearn of Impact Church teaches “Skin in the Game,” from the Build My Church series, revealing four biblical principles for putting God first, giving sacrificially, and becoming part of God's mission to change lives.

In this sermon, you’ll learn:

• How to put God first with your money, time, and priorities

• Why God wants your first and not just your leftovers

• What the Bible teaches about sacrifice that actually costs something

• How to give by faith even when your finances feel limited

• Why generosity is about more than money and starts with your heart

• How your giving can help change lives and impact future generations

There's a difference between believing in something and being willing to sacrifice for it. God hasn't called us to simply watch what He's building. He's invited us to be part of it. Your sacrifice today could become someone else's miracle tomorrow. Don't just believe in the mission. Have skin in the game.

In this sermon at Impact Church, guest speaker Pastor Tauren Wells, pastor of Church of Whitestone in Austin, Texas, teaches how God’s principles, patterns, and promises reveal a different way to approach our money and our lives.

In this sermon, you’ll learn:

• What the Bible really teaches about tithing

• Why putting God first changes the way you handle money

• Why the “first” matters when it comes to biblical giving

• How tithing moves beyond a transaction and transforms your heart

• What Scripture teaches about the firstborn, firstfruits, and first tenth

• How biblical principles can help bring order to your finances and priorities

God doesn’t want to simply be somewhere on your priority list—He wants to be first. When your life is reordered around Him, your money becomes more than something you manage. It becomes an act of worship. The question isn’t only what you’re willing to give, but who sits at the center of everything you have.

In Part 3 of our Kingdom Impact series, Pastor Travis Hearn delivers one of the most honest and spiritually challenging messages yet: The Battle for First Place. This isn’t just a sermon about priorities—it’s a revelation about possession. What owns your decisions, your emotions, your values? Is it fear, money, opinions, shame—or is it Jesus Christ?

We kick off with Savvy’s powerful testimony, and story after story of how God has transformed lives through Impact Church. From a man on the edge of suicide who found purpose in Christ, to a couple whose broken marriage was resurrected through surrender and service, this is what Kingdom Impact looks like!

With passion and realness, Pastor Travis dives deep into the spiritual battle that rages daily for first place in our hearts. He reminds us:

“Whatever is first place in your life sets the pace in your life.”

In this message, you’ll discover:

Why the throne of your heart is the most contested territory in your life

How money—more than anything else—tries to dethrone God

Why tithing isn’t about giving money, but proving trust

The blessing God promises when we test Him in this area (Malachi 3:10)

It’s more than a teaching—it’s a wake-up call.
It’s not about God needing your money. It’s about whether He has your trust, your heart, and your allegiance.

This is the moment to reorder your life. To put God back where He belongs—FIRST.
Because when He’s first, everything else falls into place.
When He’s not... everything else falls apart.

Let’s make an impact. Let’s win the battle for first place.
